Natural Age Spot Removal

Hiding harmless but not very aesthetically appealing age spots seems like a futile attempt because they cover most of your face. The reason for these age spots is over exposure of the skin to the sun. Now getting rid of these age spots is not easy but it?s not terribly difficult either. There are a lot of options available today that you can look at.

The type of treatment differs and while some are expensive there are others that require the application of chemicals. Most people are not too happy with using chemicals to remove unsightly age spots. There are of course some remedies that you could try at home which will do the job for you. These are easy to do recipes and once you know how it is to be done you will have a solution for a long time to come.

Aloe Vera is very good for age spots. Try and rub a fresh piece of raw Aloe Vera on your troubled areas and slowly they will start fading. If the plant is not available then you can use Aloe Vera in the gel or juice form. This is an excellent remedy for burns and various other skin related problems.

There is a recipe which requires few specific plants which are then mixed together and applied as a paste on your face. Take about 100 gms of neem leaf (neem is the tree that Indians refer to as Nature?s Drugstore) add 100 grams of dried basil and mint. Add turmeric powder and use rose water to make a paste. This can now be applied directly to the face. Yet another home remedy is the use of honey mixed with a little saffron and applied directly to the affected skin.

Have you heard of horseradish root? Then take some horseradish root, grate it, add half teaspoon vinegar, half teaspoon lemon juice and three drops of rosemary oil. This is an excellent exfoliating agent and used once or twice a day will act like a scrub and reduce the dark spots slowly but well.

Another very effective recipe involves eggs so if you are not allergic to eggs, then you could try this at home. Take egg white, mix 2 almonds which have been blanched, dried and ground into powder and add half teaspoon of lime juice to it. Apply like you would wear a facemask and leave till it dries. Wash off with warm water and then with cold water. Pat dry.

Sour milk is yet another good way to get rid of spots. Gentle peeling happens if you put sour milk on your face as the lactic acid present in the milk acts like a peeling agent. This takes care of irritation on the skin as well as dryness. Vitamin C is very essential for good skin. Citrus fruits like oranges can protect your face from the sun and arrest the development of age spots.

Just plain lemon juice dabbed on the spots twice a day is equally effective. The juice must dry on your face completely before you step out in to the sun. This is so that sensitivity to the sun does not increase in your skin which would then result in more age spots. This is a slow acting remedy and it takes months for the spots to go but it does fade away the spots very effectively. Dandelions are excellent for dark spots. Rub the sap that oozes out if you break open the stem on your age spots two to three times a day.

These are some very effective remedies and with most of them available quite easily you’ll soon be saying goodbye to age spots.
